Nilz & Harley Pet Services Ltd is owned and run by myself Nilz, my wife Helen and Harley our Golden Retriever. We live in Barwell, a little village in Leicestershire.
Helen & I are passionate about animals and have been pet owners all our lives. We truly believe that they're part of the family! Together we have raised Harley since he was just 9 weeks old. Harley got me through a very dark time in my life, he was my little buddy from the day we brought him home. Inseparable, Daddy’s Boy everyone said and that he truly is!… The puppy that came into my life to help me out of a dark time, ended up needing me more than ever as he has got separation anxiety. It is heartbreaking to see how stressed he gets when I leave him for long periods of time. So I wanted to choose a job that Harley could be a part of!
In 2015 I decided to join & train to be a Pet Nutritionist for a Swedish Pet Food company called Husse and soon my customers were asking if I could look after their dogs whilst they were on holiday, so we registered to be a home from home Dog Boarding & Day Care business. We soon realised that Doggie Day Care was the direction we wanted to move forward in and that what we offer provides value to our customers and their four legged companions, so wanted to expand our daycare services.
In October 2022 we opened our Countryside Doggie Daycare facility in Stoke Golding. A tranquil, peaceful & relaxing location with lots of land, the ideal environment for the dogs to escape to, a place where they can be safe and do what dogs do best …. just have fun!
We take the responsibility of looking after your four legged companions very seriously, so we’re licensed by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council, insured by Pet Plan Sanctuary, and both Helen and myself are first aid trained.
We focus on providing an experience that enriches and improves your dogs life and the importance of feeding them the right type of food plays a key part in their wellbeing. One of the main questions our customers have for me is about their Dog’s diet… what food to feed? what treats should I give? can you recommend a long lasting chew?….. and so the search began to find the best quality food & treats out there. After looking at various brands and companies, we have chosen our suppliers based on quality of products, philosophy, values and what their business is about.
